Kretzu

boom.

Goodbyes.

I just said goodbye to one of my closest friends in Des Moines. I was trying to think of what in my life here in Iowa I could attribute to him; what specifically our friendship has done, but I literally can’t.

My life in Iowa is completely shaped by his friendship.  I wouldn’t be who I am today without him. That sounds really cheesy, but he quite literally helped shape my view, love, and even dislikes of this crazy place.

It’s amazing how some situations in life become like an incubator for friendships.  The friendship we’ve built in the last year has been more meaningful and impactful than some friendships I’ve had nearly all my life.

Today was tough, but I have huge hopes for him and his family.  I can only pray that he and his family find in Latvia what God blessed me with here in Des Moines: a true friend that welcomes you home, even when home is thousands of miles away.
